Özet
Savaş, Peyami Safa’nın romanlarına yansıyan önemli bir olgudur. İmparatorluk’tan Ulus- Devlet’e geçiş ve daha sonra İkinci Dünya Savaşı sürecine tanık olan Safa, kendisini ve roman kahramanlarını bu süreçlerden soyutlayamamıştır. Bu nedenle çalışmada önce Peyami Safa’nın savaş kavramını nasıl tanımladığı, kavrama hangi anlamları yüklediği tahlil edilmiştir. Daha sonra, kahramanlar aracılığı ile ülkenin savaş öncesi durumuna duyulan özlem işlenmiştir. Bu özlemin savaş sonlarında hayal kırıklıklarına dönüşme nedenleri ise daha çok Safa’nın kendi düşüncelerinin dışa vurulduğu bölümlerde takip edilmiştir. Savaşla ilgili kuramsal tahliller, savaşın neden olduğu yokluk ve dejenerasyonun yansıdığı bölümlerin tahlilleri ile son bulmuştur. Peyami Safa, kuramsal tahlillerini desteklemek adına sıcak savaş sahneleri de kurgulamıştır. Bunlar çalışmada; cephede insanlar, cephede durumlar ve savaşın karşı taraftaki öznesi düşman askerlerinin davranışları şeklinde kümelenerek tahlile tabiî tutulmuştur. Yazarın bu sahneleri canlı kılma çabası ve kuramsal tahlillerinin günümüzde de geçerliliğini koruyor olması, Peyami Safa yazınının gündemden düşmeme nedeni olsa gerektir

Abstract
War is an important phenomenon reflecting on Peyami Safa’s novels. Having witnessed the transition from the Empire to nation-state, and Second World War later, Safa could not alienate himself and his novel characters from these processes. Hence, the study first dwells on how the concept of war was defined by Peyami Safa, and what kinds of meanings were attributed to this concept. Then, the longing for the previous state of the country prior to war in the works was dealt with through the heroes. The reasons transforming this longing into frustration through the end of the war are mainly traced in the sections where Safa’s own opinions are expressed. Theoretical analyses regarding the war ends with the analyses on the poverty and degeneration, which are the results of the war. Peyami Safa also fictionalized shooting-war scenes to support theoretical analyses. In the study, these are analyzed under the categories of people at the fronts, situations at the front, and the subject of the war at the other side referring to behaviors of the opponent soldiers.
